The move to Alert Level 3 on Tuesday April 28 has meant deliveries for online retail orders has commenced, and Auckland’s fashion shops have reopened their virtual doors and we couldn't be more excited! We've compiled a list of our favourite local dress shops and fashion shops Auckland wide that we feel are worth checking out. Now is a perfect time to fill that online cart - to treat yourself for getting through the lockdown, to stock up on some new threads or a pair of shoes ahead of winter and to support our businesses during these testing times.

Knuefermann

Knuefermann | 104 Fanshawe Street

With a focus on the highest level of service and styling, Knuefermann is a New Zealand fashion label by designer Turet Knuefermann that carries an avant-garde and unpretentious range which entices a new attitude to style. To celebrate the end of the lockdown and online shopping being back with a force, they have a 15% off everything discount available for one week only (starting from Tuesday April 29) - just use the code HEART at checkout.

Pat Menzies

Pat Menzies | Canterbury Arcade

Pat Menzies is another local institution that has been around since 1975 and is renowned for quality footwear and service. Home to the only Converse concept store in New Zealand this iconic footwear store stocks Birkenstock, Doc Martens, Havaianas, Florsheim, Onitsuka Tiger, Julius Marlow and Palladium brands to name just some, making it a great place to order your new winter boots and closed in shoes as the weather starts to cool. We particularly love the look of their Blundstone 150th boot in a deep auburn (pictured). Their 20% off essentials sale is ending soon so get in quick!

Checks Downtown

Checks Downtown | 7 High Street

Checks is a brand and retail store combining a thoughtfully selected mix of streetwear, designer menswear and international labels. We love their 'Cindy' Hoodies which come in pink and grey colourways that are available on preorder now until Friday April 24 - get in while you can and browse the rest of their eclectic range online while you're at it.

OLIVIA

OLIVIA | 22B Lorne Street

We're already filling our online cart with all things beautiful and feminine from OLIVIA - a New Zealand fashion label bringing quality garments and accessories to everyday styles. Founder Tara Kim's collections are specifically inspired by fashion forward trends in South Korea - check out the new collection 'Romance' - we bet you'll spend a long time swooning over the soft feminine designs. Be sure to check out their gorgeous and affordable jewellery and accessories too.

Clothing and hats on display

Strangely Normal | 19 O'Connell Street

A local business of more than 40 years selling '50s and '60s inspired menswear and tailoring and manufacturing suits, shirts and t-shirts. Strangely Normal's online store is well worth a visit until your able to get back into the city and visit their fashionably fun premises in person. Get planning for that next special occasion with a colourful shirt or browse their coats, jackets and accessories ahead of the stormy season.

Fabric logo on outside of store

Fabric | 2c Commerce Street

One of the chicest boutiques in the city centre, Fabric houses a huge range of carefully selected men’s and women’s clothing and accessories from international brands such as Comme des Garcons, Frank & Eileen, Isabel Marant, Maison Kitsune amongst others. We love the look of a new label on the Fabric website: Mahsa, designed and produced in New Zealand, embracing natural fibres including silk, cotton and wool. Check it out for yourself!

Womens shoes on shelf
