Each restaurant approaches and utilizes the seasonal offerings in a unique way, so kick off the season right and explore some of Auckland's best eateries as they refresh their favorite dishes and take advantage of locally sourced ingredients.

The Grove | Saint Patricks Square, Wyndham St

One of Auckland's most special little restaurants, The Grove offers a unique experience for all. New this spring, The Grove is offering a fantastic "Grove Experience" menu that will satisfy all the senses. Think dishes like Ora King Salmon with wasabi, cucumber and wild fennel, Waitaha Wagyu with miso crème fraiche, nasturtium and an oyster, “True” farm egg yolk with yuzu, smoked eel and chicken juice, and Houhora Bay Hapuka with green lip mussels, burnt onion and oyster mushroom. For dessert, carrot with buttermilk, liquorice and mint, and a toasted rice dish with Jersey milk, koji and green apple are on offer to settle the sweet cravings.

Coley & Punch | 139 Quay Street

Nestled between central city favourites Euro and The Culpeper, Coley & Punch is a cocktail and whisky bar focused on fine beverages from around the world. Not only serving up outstanding drinks, Coley & Punch also has an impressive food menu. This spring, a new early evening menu will debut each week as well as excellent drink specials. Unwind and relish in refreshing G&Ts for $7, carefully crafted cocktails for $10 and champagne specials such as Mumm Grand Cordon for $59.95 a bottle (available 5-7pm Wednesday-Saturday).

The Good George is perfect for a casual catch up with your mates, and even better this spring with their slow roasted lamb shoulder that’s great for sharing. Served with duck fat potatoes, bone marrow gravy, Yorkshire puddings & crème fraiche, we’re sure you won’t be leaving hungry! Wash it all down with their brand new Passionfruit Hazy IPA beer or their Mango Haze Cloudy Cider for some tropical spring vibes.

This humble all-in-one grocer, florist and restaurant knows how to shift with the seasons. Their ethically sourced and carefully prepared dishes are some of the best you’ll find anywhere in the city. Run down this spring to try out Scarecrow’s brand new menu. For breakfast, new dishes like black tahini & banana hotcakes with grilled banana, kiwi fruit, apple and vanilla labneh, or rhubarb & orange chia pudding with coconut yoghurt, vibri, apple syrup and almonds feature on the menu this spring. For lunch, tuck into tasty new additions such as the roasted hazelnut & pear salad with house-made duck breast prosciutto or blue D’Auvergne cheese with baby cos, radish and fig vinaigrette, or a pie of the day in either vegetarian, lamb or chicken. This spring enjoy all the new tasty dishes across their whole menu. We suggest trying an order of the gorditas with lamb pomegranate peccadillo slaw, queso blanco, pepitas and micro coriander. To settle your taco cravings, the new crumbed avocado soft shell taco is calling your name. Along with a host of new dishes on the menu, Mexico has also introduced three new Frida’s Margarita flavours - Blueberry & Yuzu, Pineapple & Baby Ginger and Watermelon and Green Apple.
