Go Kiwi hunting along the waterfront!
The Kiwi Art Trail | Britomart - Silo Park
Kiwi sculptures are brightening up the streets of Downtown Tāmaki Makaurau. These beautiful works of art will teach you and your tamariki about the plight of our national taonga species, the Kiwi, and what we can all do to help. Starting at Te Komititanga outside Britomart Station, the trail will guide you along the waterfront toward Silo Park. Get the trail map, here.
Head to a magical light display
Luminescence by La Lumiere | Khartoum Place
Get your camera ready and enjoy the magic of this installation as radiant hues of coloured lights dance along the tree branches illuminating the heart of the city.
Play a game of colour spotting
Rebirth | Freyberg Place
The Freyberg Steps are being transformed into a beautiful vibrant display of colourful swirls for ArtWeek. This piece is by Eduardo Tolentino Tan and is symbolic of the city’s return to life and vibrancy, after being forced into stillness and stunted by the pandemic. The kids will love jumping around on these steps, and it makes for a fantastic background for a family photo!

Watch out for monsters!
Wētā Workshop Unleashed at Late Night Art
As part of Late Night Art on Thursday the 12 October, the Wētā Workshop Unleashed crew will be opening their tightly locked red door and unleashing creative havoc on the streets of Auckland! Keep your eyes peeled for wandering monsters as you make your way around Late Night Art. You never know where they might appear!
Get creative
Rat world zine and friends | Ellen Melville Centre
On October 12 during Late Night Art, visit the friendly Rat World team and put your creativity to the test. The kids will love having a go at making their own badges and stickers while you learn how to create a zine, and collaborate on the communal comic!
