Over summer 2021, our waterfront will be on the world stage for the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada. Yachting supporters, super yachts and camera crews will descend on Auckland’s city centre for this iconic international event.
The event is taking place in Wynyard Quarter and on the Waitematā Harbour, with event bases and public viewing access being built across Wynyard Point, Halsey Street wharf and Hobson Wharf. Tanks next to Silo Park have been removed to make room for an extension of the park as well as challenger team bases.
People checking out the yachting action will appreciate the conveniently located delicious eating options in North Wharf, Auckland Fish Market and the Viaduct, and can check out the latest new additions to the ever-evolving Wynyard Quarter area.
After the final is raced in March 2021, Aucklanders will be looking ahead to what Wynyard Point might become and how it will add to the neighbourhood that’s emerging in Wynyard Quarter.
