THIS WALK IS NOW SOLD OUT

Explore the historical narrative contained within the central city and encounter the kaleidoscope of the City of Colour illuminations.

Rudyard Kipling, one of the best-known Victorian poets and storytellers, described Auckland as ‘Last. Loneliest. Loveliest. Exquisite. Apart.’

This walking tour introduces people to one of the world’s unique cities, which Māori called Tāmaki Makaurau - ‘the place loved by many.’

Starting at the harbourside you'll walk uptown, immersing yourself in the City of Colour illuminations while exploring the historical narrative contained within the central city valley. You'll encounter insights into natural history, and pre-European and colonial settlement through the cityscape, its geography, architecture, and public art.
