Dans le Noir? dining in the dark and Rydges Auckland are celebrating their 2 year anniversary with a new and original concept: Otra Vista Social Club, a Silent Dance Party organized in association with Deaf Interpreting New Zealand.
Dancing in silence?
Night owls join this silent dance party to learn some basics of sign language! Grab a headset and dance to music offered by resident DJ mixing 2 different playlists simultaneously!
But how to communicate with headphones on your ears?
Communication using facial expression, body language and gesture may be totally new for you but it will help you to take another perspective and think outside of the box! This time, Deaf people will be your leaders and will teach you sign language! Practice with them and come to our Silent bar to order your drinks and food.
Working with Deaf Interpreting NZ, a part of the funds collected will be donated to the organization to provide training for Deaf people to become Deaf interpreters.
