The Great Kiwi Road Trip - 6 courses, 6 producers, 6 New Zealand regions.

An epicurean evening awaits diners this Restaurant Month along with waterside dining at its best. Join guests at the Park Hyatt’s Onemata restaurant where large bay windows look out to superyachts on the Viaduct Basin and an open kitchen takes centre stage.

Meaning “rich fertile soil”, this translation forms the core philosophy for Chef Rob Hope-Ede and the culinary team at Park Hyatt Auckland. On this special evening, Rob will take you on a great New Zealand road trip, tasting and revealing tales of the artisans and producers who have contributed to the menu for the night. The six-course fine dining menu will highlight harvests from the stunning landscapes of the South Island to the bountiful coastlines of the North.

With over two decades of culinary experience, Chef Rob Hope-Ede cut his teeth in the kitchens of Euro Restaurant & Bar and Jervois Steakhouse and rose to the rank of Head Chef at Giraffe Restaurant under the direction of chef and mentor, Simon Gault. Rob’s tenacity for excellence and a thirst for knowledge, has seen him travel abroad to cities such as Chicago, Barcelona, China and Italy, where he learned, refined and mastered techniques that he now performs daily through the flavours and textures of the Onemata dining room.

Don’t miss the chance to experience this one-hatted restaurant showcasing the best of NZ produce in one of the city centre’s newest hotels.
