From baking treats for your workmates to buying someone random a coffee to giving a passerby a compliment, Thursday 1st September is all about doing Random Acts of Kindness for no reason at all.

Now in its 7th year, Random Acts of Kindness Day is all about people doing kind things for others. And this year RAK is set to be bigger than ever with events and 'kind happenings' occurring around Auckland CBD.

On the day, Heart of the City will be your number 1 source for 'kind happenings' via our Facebook Page. And of course, we will be getting into the Random Acts of Kindness spirit (exactly what we can't tell you just yet) so keep an eye out on our Facebook Page.

Random Acts of Kindness Day is a great excuse to do fun (and kind) things in your home or workplace. Here are some ideas for what to do:

  • Bake muffins for the office
  • Organize a surprise long lunch to reward a hard working team
  • Pay for a strangers' parking
  • Give a passerby a compliment
  • Give a passerby a hand
  • Babysit for friends so they can have a night out
  • Phone your mum
  • Merge like a zip
  • Give a box of Roses to say thank you to someone who deserves it
  • Mow the neighbour’s lawn
Enjoy two hours of free parking or $5 evening and weekend rates. Find out more. Ride on public transport from as little as $2 each way. Find out more.
