In February 2020, up-and-coming New Zealand comedian Tom Clarke brings back his celebrated solo show, Perry. Come and meet Perry before he takes off on a world tour.

Fast paced, wild, and extremely naughty, Perry is a one-man show about unfastening yourself from the rules and letting loose. For one tight hour Perry (40% old man clown, 60% unbridled malice) flirts with your willingness to suspend disbelief as he mimes his way through life, death...and dogs. Dressed in one too many layers of woollen knit, Perry will sweat, dance, and charm his way into your heart. And then brutally crush it.

Creator and star Tom Clarke was recently seen in a critically-acclaimed lead role in Auckland Theatre Company's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, is a multiple Wellington Theatre Award winner, and an close friend of the wildly popular comedy improv group, Snort. He returns to Basement after a sold-out development season during the 2018 New Zealand international Comedy Festival and plans to introduce Perry to the world in 2020 and 2021 at Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Fasten your imaginary seatbelts. It’ll be a night of realising there is no such thing as a seatbelt.

“Tom Clarke’s Perry is disturbingly compelling – and arguably more insightful, and certainly more entertaining, than a psychoanalyst’s report might be.” – Theatreview

Praise for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern:

“Clarke has tapped into the comedic DNA of Michael Palin and The Goons (look them up youngsters) to tickle the audience with sometimes almost nothing but a shrug or harrumph as Rosencrantz” – Keeping Up With NZ

“Tom Clarke as Rosencrantz … is sensational.” - broadwayworld.com
