Watch our own fashion revolutionaries from AUT with live demonstrations in sewing and leathermaking, and download podcasts by fashion insiders.

Saturday the 11th December – 12th December 11 am - 3 pm
To mark the opening of Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary, we invite you to converse with some revolutionary thinkers of our own. Final year students at AUT’s School of Fashion and Design display their garments and demonstrate their making techniques throughout this opening weekend. Drop in to see their work up close and watch them at work on techniques of leatherworking, weaving, smocking, metal accessory making, upcycling and more.

Saturday 11th December 11 am – 12 pm
Fashion historian and the founder of the NZ Fashion Museum, Doris de Pont takes you on a walking tour across the city to share stories of key fashion influencers and designers, taking in landmarks integral to their story. Featuring Paddy Walker, Jennifer Dean, Liz Findlay, Adrienne Winkelmann, and Karen Walker. Places are strictly limited, please email gallerytours@aucklandartgallery.com to secure your place.

Curator Sophie Matthiesson talks about the extraordinary career of design pioneer Mary Quant and the new exhibition, Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary. Places are strictly limited, please arrive early to avoid disappointment, held in the Gallery Auditorium.
