Fresh from blowing away her audience at Auckland’s Laneway Festival in January, Julia Jacklin announces her return to New Zealand, playing the Tuning Fork on May 27 to celebrate the release of her acclaimed debut album, Don't Let The Kids Win.
Jacklin was one of 2016's breakout stars, releasing one of the most critically acclaimed records of the year internationally, selling out multiple Australian tours, playing major festivals like SXSW, Electric Picnic and End of the Road, touring with Whitney and New Zealander Marlon Williams overseas, and garnering nominations for the AMP, APRA Awards and winning 'Next Big Thing' at the FBi Awards.
Don’t Let The Kids Win was recorded at New Zealand’s very own Sitting Room studios in Lyttleton with Ben Edwards (Marlon Williams, Aldous Harding, Nadia Reid), inspired by the likes of Fiona Apple, Anna Calvi and Angel Olsen.
