Tāmaki’s silliest of the silly season, the legendary Basement Christmas Show returns for its fourteenth year - it’s the Jingle Bellethon Telethon!
Ho ho ho, thank you very much for your kind koha!
The klassic kiwi telethon is back and this time it’s a whole lot more unhinged. A deeply devoted but ultimately chaotic crew are scraping together an unforgettable telethon. But the countdown to Christmas is on and there’s a big donation target over their heads. Will they raise the money and spread the Christmas cheer? Or will the pressure of an unpredictable live audience, awkward celebrity interviews, rollicking sketches and offbeat musical numbers create a cursed telethon that should have stayed in 2009?!
Created by comedian, clown baby, theatre kid and writer Janaye Henry (Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa) and theatre plus DJ powerhouse Bea Gladding (Ngāti Porou, Ngāpuhi) with co-writer Frickin Dangerous Bro Jamaine Ross (Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Kahungunu), Jingle Bellethon Telethon features a red-hot cast of crackups and a nightly celebrity guest.
