Get ready for spelling fun at the Bananagrams Tournament Bananza! All are welcome to play, complete or watch at the free event.
Open Play from 11am - 3pm and the Tournament runs from 1pm - 3pm.
Bananagrams is a fun, fast-paced Scrabble-like game where there’s no waiting around. You’re in a race against others to build a crossword till there’s no tiles left. Play a casual game or if you’re up for it… compete against other spellbound wordsmiths in the Tournament for prizes from the sponsors Fairtrade New Zealand and All Good Bananas.
You’ll also have a chance to see and play the new banana-themed Fairtrade New Zealand and All Good Bananas educational game.
While you’re in Midtown, check out the Midtown Market Day from 11 – 3pm. There’ll be free tastings, live music, market specials and spot prizes – fun for the whole whānau!
This event is also part of Play Month running through October and across the city. Enjoy a range of free events for all ages from toddlers to seniors that explore play. On at the same time and close by is all ages ‘Play in the Square’ event at Aotea Square from 10am - 3pm
The event is being supported by Auckland Council and the city centre targeted rate.
$2.50 per hour to a max of $12.50 on weekends and a $12.50 flat rate for weekday evenings at The Civic car park. Find out more.
