Celebrate the opening of the gallery's Spring exhibition programme with a talk by exhibiting artists Kulimoe’anga Stone Maka & Chevron Hassett.
In What we choose to remember, Maka presents a new ngatu tā’uli (Tongan tapa cloth) exploring his ongoing interest in the relationship between Britain and Tonga. In Aroha Ki Te Tangata, Hassett’s latest installation in The Changing Room, he presents a carved atamira (Māori platform), interpreting its forms to reference the rapid postwar migration of Māori communities to urban centres.
All are welcome. Light refreshments provided.
