Hilton Auckland’s Bellini Bar is set to introduce a new chapter in its renowned Afternoon Tea by the Sea series, showcasing a deeply personal and flavourful tribute by Pastry Chef Hiranya Ratnayake. Roots of Chef Hiranya is a celebration of Chef Hiranya’s Sri Lankan heritage, infused with the vibrant flavours of New Zealand, bringing a one-of-a-kind afternoon tea experience by the sea.
Hailing from Sri Lanka, Chef Hiranya’s journey into the world of pastry was not conventional. Inspired by her father’s unwavering belief in her talent—even when her first cake didn’t rise to perfection—she pursued a career in hospitality and culinary arts. Now, as the creative force behind Bellini Bar’s afternoon tea, she brings her roots to the forefront, crafting a menu that tells a story with every bite.
Guests can look forward to a menu infused with nostalgia and innovation, featuring flavours that pay homage to Sri Lanka’s culinary traditions while embracing the finest local ingredients from New Zealand.
