The Glenlivet is throwing out the rule book and breaking perception of whisky consumption with the launch of the world’s first edible cocktail range, The Glenlivet Capsule Collection, now available in selected city centre bars.
The limited-edition capsules have been created in partnership with key innovators and mixology experts to create a new and unique way to drink whisky, using an edible casing that dissolves in the mouth. No glass or ice stirrer required. Made from seaweed extract, the flavourless casing is a renewable resource that biodegrades faster than fruit peel.
From June 1, participating bars across the city centre are giving away two complimentary capsules with any The Glenlivet cocktail purchased from their limited edition menu.

The Sugar Club | SkyTower
At 53 floors above Auckland City, at the top of the Sky Tower, The Sugar Club is a unique dining experience. Book in for an early dinner Wednesday-Sunday, for an evening of incredible food and the best sunset views in town. Start your evening off with one of The Glenlivet cocktails from their limited edition menu (the Packs a Peach is our personal fave!). You'll also get two of the exciting new capsules to try. When it comes to ordering your dishes for the night, it's hard to go past their slow-cooked eggplant entrée with charred sweetcorn, cucumber, gooseberry and tomato water. For the main affair, the duck cured in Piha kelp with baby beetroot and black garlic puree, and a beetroot jus, or the plant-based option of buckwheat and barley porridge with oyster mushroom, coconut and kale, are our top recommendations.
Sardine | 149 Quay Street
Tucked away just off Quay Street, and within White + Wong's, Sardine is the go-to bar for bespoke cocktails, craft beer and stunning waterfront views. Head in for after work drinks and order one of Sardine's limited edition The Glenlivet cocktails, which will come with two of the new edible cocktail capsules to try! Continue the evening on with a bite to eat from White + Wong's mouthwatering Asian-fusion menu, the cucumber kimchi with coriander and sesame is a must-try!
