Disney On Ice celebrates Mickey and Friends | August 2-4, Spark Arena 

Disney On Ice celebrates Mickey and Friends is skating into Spark Arena from the 2nd – 4th of August. 
Grab your mouse ears and get ready for the ultimate interactive event of your favourite Disney memories in this commemoration of 90 years of Mickey Mouse. For the first time ever see fearless Moana, along with an array of classic and modern Disney stories, including Finding Dory, Toy Story and Inside Out.
IMPORTANT: For the first time ever – The Sunday 5:30pm performance in Auckland will present the Moana segment in Te Reo Maori (all other segments presented in English)

New Zealand Fashion Week | August 26 - September 1, Aotea Square, Auckland Town Hall 

New Zealand Fashion Week returns in 2019 in a brand new location - this time taking place in the heart of the city in various locations including Auckland Town Hall and Aotea Square. With the weekdays placing focus on trade (invite only) shows, consumers can look towards Fashion Weekend for the public ticketed runway shows, as well as seminars, pop-up designer sales and other awesome public activations taking place. 

New Zealand International Film Festival | July 18 - August 4, various locations 

The 51st Auckland International Film Festival is returning from 18 July to 4 August 2019 with another awesome line-up of films to know about and see. Tickets are selling fast so get in while you can! See our list of the top films to see at this year's festival here

Semi Permanent | August 15 - 17, Aotea Centre 

Semi Permanent, New Zealand’s most prestigious, popular and influential creative festival returns to Auckland to pull community together, shape ideas and celebrate the power of good design to change and influence the world around us. This year’s festival sees an exciting line-up of accomplished speakers hand-picked to inspire and motivate with their knowledge and experiences from all areas of design, from art, graphic design and film to music and photography, and from advertising and illustration to new wave publishing, poetry, product design and architecture.

A Place to Paint: Colin McCahon in Auckland | From August 10, Auckland Art Gallery 

Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki presents A Place to Paint: Colin McCahon in Auckland, an exhibition of work by one of New Zealand’s foremost artists, Colin McCahon (1919–1987), opening Saturday 10 August. McCahon’s work is marked by a strong spirit of experimentalism and independence. Today, he is widely regarded as one of Australasia’s key 20th-century artists. 

Clicquot in the Snow pop up at SEVEN | Now - August 19, SEVEN, Seafearers Building 

SEVEN, a stunning rooftop bar and restaurant located inside Britomart's Seafearers building has transformed into the ultimate alpine winter escape, bringing a taste of Queenstown’s iconic Clicquot in the Snow festival to Auckland. Ultimate Queen Celebration |  August 30, ASB Theatre 

No stranger to fronting Queen projects, Marc Martel was handpicked by Roger Taylor and Brian May to front their official Queen tribute in 2012. Martel launched his own The Ultimate Queen Celebration project in March 2017. He has since completed a hugely successfully inaugural tour of Australia and New Zealand; continued to perform to sold out concerts across North America, and has created an internet sensation with his live one take recordings of Queen songs.
