The Queen's Ferry | 12 Vulcan Lane

Situated on Vulcan Lane, the Queen's Ferry is a cherished city centre landmark, with a rich history dating back to 1865. Originally established to cater to travelers and settlers, Queen's Ferry quickly became a hub of social activity and camaraderie, offering respite, refreshment for all. The refreshed menu, which diverges from the typical old-English pub style, features dishes such as baked brie drizzled with hot honey and served with a toasted baguette, hot chicken sandwiches, calamari, liver pâté, and sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce, to name a few!

The Occidental | 8 Vulcan Lane

The Occidental Belgian Beer Cafe and its lively pub atmosphere remains a go-to for many city workers - head there after you’ve left the office and find out why. A range of Belgian beers are served, of course - on tap and by the bottle. The authentic Belgian cuisine sits nicely alongside the beer, with traditional pub favourites on offer too (the fries in a cone are excellent). Don’t get carried away though - you’ll need to save some space for Belgian waffles.

Vultures’ Lane | 10 Vulcan Lane

Vultures’ Lane is an unpretentious craft beer bar, and a great setting for a casual after work beer. The English pub vibe of Vultures’ Lane makes it a cosy and familiar way to cool off after a hard day’s work. With 22 rotating taps and 75 bottles, everyone in your party is sure to find a beer that they’ll enjoy. The food menu also contains a range of well-priced offerings - whether you like to play it safe with standard pub fare, or try something a bit different (how about an umami burger?)

Cassette Nine | 9 Vulcan Lane

If you’re looking to mix up your after work drinks, you have to check out the novel and character-filled Cassette Nine. A visit to Cassette Nine wouldn’t be complete without sampling one of their teapot cocktails - the perfectly quirky way to share a drink. The colourful drinks are matched (or mismatched) by intriguing decor (keep an eye out for the cat pictures on the bathroom ceiling) and a variety of live music tops off the atmosphere.
