In Mexican culture, death is viewed as a natural part of the human cycle and Day of the Dead is a time not for sadness, but rather a festival of celebration for family and friends that honours loved ones and ancestors on the date when their souls are believed to have returned to earth.

Traditionally, celebrating the dead in Mexico goes hand in hand with feasting on special food, so get into the spirit of Dia De Los Muertos at La Fuente this weekend with a special three-course celebratory pairing:

  • Scallop aguachile, green chilli, lime juice on a lettuce cup, paired with Garage Project La Calavera Catrina, a watermelon and habanero blond lager
  • Seared beef and goat's cheese tostada & pomegranate, paired with 2018 Garage Project Vino Magico, Riesling/Chardonnay, Nelson, New Zealand

Fried Chicken and margarita

Mexico Britomart will celebrate Dead of the Dead with some really great food and liquor specials all day.

In collaboration with El Jimador, they have created an amazing Margarita perfect for the beginning of Summer. Introducing the Pineapple, Passion & Cherry Slushy Margarita which is only $8 all day.

Executive Chef Peter Jackson has created the most delicious Fried Chicken Burger made with their famous Fried Chicken, jalapeño mayo, red slaw, coriander and smoky chipotle mayo, in a charcoal brioche bun for $16. Plus the Fried Chicken is half price all day at $8 per bowl.
