The Hotel Britomart

The Hotel Britomart

The Hotel Britomart is New Zealand’s first 5 Green Star Hotel, a peaceful retreat within the heart of the buzzing shopping and hospitality precinct. Set over 10 floors and designed by Cheshire Architects, the unique aesthetic features of the hotel include a cobbled square and distinctive brick exterior with irregularly placed windows which link the building with its unique heritage environs.

The Hotel Britomart has 99 guest rooms and five luxurious suites. All guest rooms come with snug timber-lined walls, beautifully tiled bathrooms, built-in sofas, hand-made ceramics and minibars full of locally sourced treats. There a five different rooms to choose from - the Galway View Room, Waitemata View Room, City View Room, Takutai View Room and the Laneway View Room. The Hotel also has five suites dubbed The Landing Suites, named after bays at The Landing, the luxury destination in New Zealand’s Bay of Islands (which, like The Hotel Britomart and the Britomart precinct, is owned by Cooper and Company). Three suites are located on the Hotel's top floor, while the other two are set in a glassy pavilion constructed on the roof of the adjacent century-old Buckland Building, accessed through The Hotel Britomart’s fifth floor.

New stores and eateries including kingi (by the team from Orphans Kitchen) adorn and bring life to the Hotel's beautiful ground floor. The neighbouring Masonic and Buckland heritage buildings that face onto Customs Street will also get a revamp, with a new laneway between the old and new buildings connecting the hotel's main entrance with Customs Street through the Masonic Building.

Park for $2 per hour at the Downtown car park to a maximum of $15 on evenings and weekends. Find out more
