Straight to the Heart has officially reached its final stop. The free taxis have parked up, the keys are out of the ignition and those mystery drop-offs are now part of the legend.
But the destination hasn’t changed.
Auckland City is still buzzing — full of places to eat, drink, shop and explore, whether you’re visiting for the first time or rediscovering old favourites. However you get here, the city centre is packed with things worth sticking around for.
So while you can’t hail a Straight to the Heart taxi like it’s a movie scene anymore, you can wander, explore and follow your curiosity through the city centre. No set route, no final stop — just plenty to discover.
Straight to the Heart may be off the road, but the city is very much open for business.

You can get dropped off in city centre locations, like Aotea Square, Britomart, Commercial Bay, High Street, Lorne Street, Queen Street & the Laneways, SkyCity, The Viaduct, Victoria Quarter or Wynyard Quarter. Browse the map below to explore your options!
When and where am I most likely to find a taxi?
The free taxi is available to hail in Central Auckland Thursday & Friday from 4pm-10pm and Saturday from 10am-10pm and Sunday from 10am-7pm. Simply hail the taxi down the old-fashioned way and hop in for an adventure!
What about getting back home?
Each passenger will be eligible for a $10 credit to return home using a fellow co-op taxi, powered by YourRide.
How long is this available?
Our free taxis will be running until the 16th of November - so keep your eyes peeled!
How will I know I’ve won?

When will I get my prizes?
You will be contacted within 24 hours of the prize draw.
