Get Ready For Movie Magic!
Takutai Nights is back! This year, theyâre turning things up with five free evenings of outdoor cinema screenings. The lineup features a beloved American comedy classic, a long-awaited sequel to a 1988 cult favourite, an animated gem from Studio Ghibli, a collection of short films by Indigenous filmmakers, and a homegrown comedy-drama. Each of the screenings starts at 7.30PM.

A 25-year-old classic that's still going strong, Bring it On focuses on a champion high school cheerleading squad that discovers its previous captain stole all their best routines from an inner-city school and must scramble to compete at this year's championships. Packed with sharp one-liners, big routines and plenty of early-2000s nostalgia, itâs the perfect feel-good comedy to watch with friends and family.

Mauri Moana brings together a collection of short films by Indigenous filmmakers whose stories emerge from the vast oceans that connect our peoples. Across the Moana, the sea carries memory, identity and ancestral knowledge. These films reflect the living mauri - the life force - that flows between islands, communities and generations, reminding us that while our shores are distant, our connections run deep.
