Pasifika creatives share their storytelling ways through two interactive sessions.
The first (1.00-2.30pm) is with Doron Semu who uses the process of making Samoan siapo to connect, talanoa and heal alongside the LGBTQ+, Takatāpui and MVPFAFF communities he serves across Aotearoa.
The second (2.30-4.00pm) is with award winning tapa artist Tui Emma Gillies, whose work is exhibited around the world, working alongside her mother Sulieti Fieme'a Burrows. They will share their journey and provide opportunities to learn about the magic of storytelling through the creation of designs and motifs on ngatu Tonga.
In true Pasifika spirit both sessions will include opportunities where some audience members will be invited to create alongside Doron, Tui and Sulieti.
