A singular spin on photography from Canadian artist and graphic novelist Leanne Shapton in which she examines the use of photography in painting, referencing the British pop artist David Hockney; the Latvian- American blurrer of figuration and abstraction Vija Celmins; and the dazzling German abstractionist Gerard Richter. She also refers to her own work which interrogates objects and their owners, combining photographs, architectural plans, text, and her own watercolours.

Supported by the NZ Contemporary Art Trust.
