Auckland's Central City Library is a treasure trove for music lovers, not only because of its comprehensive music collections but it has a reputation for exceptional concerts brought to you by the music community whom it serves. The concert series was established in 2005 after Lewis Eady Ltd. gifted the library with a beautiful Kawai grand piano and it continues to delight.

We invite you to join us for a year of breath-taking performances - a special series of concerts where together with the musicians we uncover the enduring power behind the music held in the library’s collections.

Join us for a season of discovery, FREE in the centre of Auckland, a UNESCO City of Music.

When: Fortnightly from Thursday 18 April to Thursday 7 November, 12pm - 1pm.

Where: Whare Wānanga, Level 2, Central City Library, Lorne St, Auckland.

Spring Series 2019

The Francis-Lee Duo (Dr Charlotte Francis, violin and Gemma Lee, piano) present a programme featuring the works of two powerful women composers from the 19th century: Clara Schumann and Amy Beach.

The Kotuku Quintet, Simon Ansell (violin), John Seagar (violin) Judith Gust (viola), Sally-Anne Brown (cello), Louise Webster (piano), return to the stage this year with a programme that features two little-known works from the Romantic era: Frank Bridge’s Quintet in D minor, and Enrique Granados’ Quintet in G minor.

The Accord ensemble is the Auckland Chamber Choir Ensemble, a soprano/alto choir based at the University of Auckland School of Music.
