Meet Jungle 8, the sibling restaurant of Ponsonby's much-loved Lucky 8, sending you on a culinary journey inspired by the vibrant streets of Vietnam.

Featuring a mouthwatering menu of Vietnamese-inspired tapas, and almost all of them priced at $8.88, it's hard not to order every dish. We recommend the mouthwatering wagyu beef ban xeo (served in a taco-like shell), the crispy popping prawns with curry leaf and yuzu aioli, relish and the smoked eggplant bahn mi (they also have a pork cheek option that was equally tasty). The drinks menu is inspired by the fresh and aromatic flavours of Southeast Asia, using fresh florals, punchy herbs and sweet tropical fruits. Our pick: the Bu vien haze!

The cocktail list has been curated around memories of adventures in Vietnam and Thailand. A must-try is the “Bu vien haze”  - inspired by a cold, sweet dragonfruit juice served fresh on the streetside and the “Phuc-cing recovery” cocktail - Jungle 8's twist on a classic espresso martini with Phuc-long and a brûlée custard foam to create a palate reminiscent of ca phe trung, or Vietnamese egg coffee.
