Wynyard Quarter is growing up! From humble beginnings as a working wharf with fishing boats and marine workers to the destination it is today, Wynyard Quarter is the best place to be any time of day.
They're celebrating the neighbourhood turning nine with a fun-filled day for the family full of activities designed to brighten up your weekend.
Take a tour of one of the classic yachts in Silo Marina, have a chat to some of the boat owners and if the mood strikes you, go for a sail around the harbour on the SS Puke with the Maritime Museum. If a literal boat is not your cup of tea, jump on board the Auckland Libraries waka to settle in with a book including Te Reo Māori books or join in with games, activities and more.
There will be music, art installations, gardening workshops and street games to boot, and a training demonstration from Fire and Emergency NZ where they will drop down off the silos.
Don’t forget to check out some of the restaurants nearby too - there’s lots of great deals on with Heart of the City’s Restaurant Month in full swing
The whole Wynyard Quarter is going to be buzzing with celebrations and we hope to see there!
