“Tradition Meets Contemporary” is the title of this month’s artist showcase and part of this years Auckland Artweek 6-14 October.
Celebrating innovation and creativity this showcase presents mahi that acknowledges the past and the present of the creative continuum.
The mahi includes the mediums of uku (clay), rakau (wood), raranga (weaving) and stone, constructed in both the traditions of Maori material culture and with the use of modern materials; a contemporary visual language.
