Tickets are on sale for Auckland's answer to cinema and summer with the IN THE SHADE film festival. From 19th January until 2nd February, audiences can see over 50 films from over 20 countries at Academy Cinemas.
The line up is a veritable best of the year list, with films that are blitzing through the festival and awards circuits like closing night film C’MON C’MON and the New Zealand Premiere of acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film LICORICE PIZZA as a Special Presentation.
Other films include acclaimed New Zealand documentary FIONA CLARK:UNAFRAID, Cannes hit ANNETTE, Sundance Grand Jury prize winner FLEE, DRIVE MY CAR which is based on a story by the legendary author Haruki Murakami, critically acclaimed WILD INDIAN and the Mia Wasikowska and Tim Roth starrer BERGMAN ISLAND. See the full line up, here.
Crucially, the festival will still go ahead even if Auckland remains at RED under the new Covid-19 Protection Framework. This does mean that tickets are on sale as though at RED; so pundits are encouraged to get in quick so they don’t miss out.
If Auckland moves to ORANGE, further tickets will be released.
