Why throw it away when you can fix it at this free sewing repair workshop?
Guided by the skilled artisans of the Thread Room, this workshop is your invitation to breathe fresh life into some of your favorite garments. Whether dealing with broken zips and buttons, hems that need mending, seems that have split, stuffed animals with fluff-emergencies, or just wanting to try a new technique, the sewing aficionados are on hand to help you with simple clothing repairs.
Sewing stations will be thoughtfully arranged, and you'll receive hands-on guidance on how to resuscitate your threads.
Not in need of repairs but wanting to up-skill with your sewing? Fear not! They'll have everything you need on-site to create a simple draw string bag or scrunchie. Easy!
This workshop will be a drop-in format, so simply bring along your garment if you have a specific vision, and they'll supply the rest: sewing machines, fabrics, scissors, and thread.
The Sewing Repair Workshop is made possible thanks to Eke Panuku Development Auckland and is a part of the Summer on Queens Wharf programme.
