On Saturday 31 December 2016 SKYCITY continues their annual tradition of unleashing a stunning fireworks display from the Sky Tower to welcome in the new year.
The celebrations will begin at 9.00pm with a laser animation show that will feature a diverse range of colorful kiwiana themed animations that will be 90 meters in height. The animations will be able to be viewed from within the CBD as well from select vantage points throughout Wynyard Quarter, Albert Park, Ponsonby, Herne Bay, Birkenhead, Mission Bay and Oraki Point.
Following the laser animation show at midnight an epic fireworks display will be set off on the Sky Tower that will last for five minutes. This year’s show will also be choreographed to a music playlist, and those watching from select vantage points around the city can tune in to More FM (91.8 FM) to listen to the tracks played in time with the show.
