This Music of the Month, Tiny Ruins will be performing a very special and intimate FREE solo show, coinciding beautifully with the gallery's new exhibition A Century of Modern Art.
Long on the gallery's wish list, Hollie Fullbrook is one of Aotearoa’s most internationally celebrated songwriters, with a deep well of perfectly crafted albums to draw upon. This is a rare opportunity to catch Hollie performing as Tiny Ruins during the band’s recording phase, as they work to complete the follow-up to their Taite Prize Finalist 2023 album Ceremony.
To browse the Tiny Ruins back catalogue is in itself a sort of wander through an exhibition, with each album cover featuring carefully chosen, often especially commissioned, paintings or photographs. There could not be a more fitting soundtrack to A Century of Modern Art, a show on loan from the Toledo Museum of Art that features timeless paintings by the likes of Van Gogh, Monet, Cezanne, Frankenthaler and many more.
Championed by the likes of The Guardian, the BBC, Uncut magazine, the New York Times, and even the late David Lynch.
Seats are free, and open to all ages, but space is limited.
$2.50 per hour to a max of $12.50 on weekends and a $12 flat rate for weekday evenings at The Civic car park. Find out more.
