Get ready to be swept away by the magic of one of the most beloved musicals ever written, The Music Man! This October, Auckland is in for a treat as they bring this classic musical to life.
Following on from last year’s hugely successful semi-staged season of Chess, this concert spectacular will be performed live by our finest singers and musicians, sharing the stage with the Royal New Zealand Navy Band to create a wall of sound, over four days.
The story revolves around the charming yet audacious swindler, Professor Harold Hill, who sets foot in River City, Iowa, with promises of uniforms, instruments, and lessons for a brand-new town band. Leading the cast is the talented Nic Kyle, who won rave reviews for his most recent performance as Charlie Price in the New Zealand premiere season of Kinky Boots. Playing Professor Hill’s love interest is Jess Rogers whose most recent credits include the New Zealand premiere and National Tour of Shrek The Musical and Madagascar The Musical. She is also a member of the vocal trio The Madeleines.
