Winter just got warmer!
On Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, a talented line-up of brilliant young artists from Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra's Young Achievers programme will be heating up the Wintergarden, in the heart of The Civic, performing in duos, trios and quartets. These musicians will be playing a variety of music from classical favourites right through to R&B and hip-hop influenced beats.
The audience will be seated cabaret-style so you can enjoy a drink and great music in a more casual setting, soaking up the atmosphere of this iconic space.
There will be Happy Hour prices at the bar pre-concert. Tickets are $15* for adults and $10* for students.
Performance schedule:
16 August, 2pm | Trios Amis Flutes - Flute trio
- From classical music to some fun recognisable hits, this flute trio have an exciting range of music that will keep you guessing what’s next.
18 August, 7pm | Felice Duet - Violin duo
- Violinists Grace McKenzie and Ki Hei Lee joined forces to create this fantastic Violin duo, Felice Duet. Having won scholarships to travel to UK and competing in many competitions, you’ll be in for a fantastic evening of music.
23 August, 2pm | Alicia - Jazz Quartet
- Fresh on the scene and out to get you in the groove, Alícía is one to watch. Expect R&B, Jazz and Hip-hop influenced beats overlaid with a rich vocal to cut into your soul. Not complete without a few cheeky guitar solos.
25 August, 7pm | Eden Quartet - String quartet
- Playing a range of pieces from different musical periods, the Eden Quartet is a highly talented string quartet that promises to create a wonderful and unforgettable experience.
$2 per hour to a max of $12 on weekends and a $12 flat rate for weekday evenings at The Civic car park. Find out more.
