"Give me a girl at an impressionable age, and she is mine for life,” said Muriel Spark’s captivating and complex Miss Jean Brodie.

Major Aotearoa New Zealand novelist, twice-winner of the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction and Ockham NZ Book Awards longlisted Catherine Chidgey and Granta Best Young British Novelist K Patrick met on a recent Cheltenham Festival stage to discuss their compelling novels: Pet and Mrs S. Both feature young women falling under the spell of charismatic leaders in the school halls.

The authors reunite at AWF to continue their sparkling conversation about their thrilling books and the darker side of being a teacher’s pet ... Chaired by Karyn Hay.
