A departure from the minimal, linear approach to painting that defined his earlier years, Darryn George’s exhibition A River flowing out of Eden embraces a joyful, vibrant palette. Deliberately free and naive, the works explore ideas of innocence and purity. A central, vertical beam divides each composition, suggesting a path that soars towards the heavens, while making reference to an early influence of the artist, American Painter Barnett Newman.
This exhibition is available to view Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, and Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
