For an out-of-body experience after work, head to Central City Library to feel the rich sounds of the taiko (Japanese Traditional Drum) vibrate the cells in your body. Come along to witness a powerful performance by the Haere Mai Taiko group. These dedicated and passionate musicians have been performing in Tāmaki Makaurau since 2004.
The performance will take place on the concourse under the twilight sky. Such an ideal setting will allow the lucid sounds to guide its audience to the mysterious and spiritual world of Yokai. The Auckland Central City Library is proud to host this performance as a part of the Yokai Parade Exhibition events.
‘Yokai Parade: Supernatural Monsters from Japan’ exhibition is organised in collaboration with the Consulate-General of Japan in Auckland and the Japan Foundation from 29 September to 06 November 2022, with free admission. See more here.
