In a bold and unexpected move to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis (CF), Cystic Fibrosis NZ (CFNZ) launches Air for All – a fresh, attention-grabbing fundraising campaign for Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month.
CFNZ are kicking things off with a limited-time pop-up shop in Auckland’s Britomart, selling jars of high-quality Aotearoa air, one of the most basic human needs, to raise funds to support people living with CF.
For over 600 Kiwis living with this relentless genetic condition, every breath can be a battle. CF damages the lungs and other organs, turning something as simple as breathing, into a daily, exhausting effort. There is no cure – only constant treatment, and hope.
This campaign is deliberately disruptive – part art, part advocacy. Shoppers at the Britomart pop-up shop, or online, can purchase a limited-edition jar of pure Aotearoa air.
- A $25 jar can help cover a day’s hospital parking for a family during an admission or clinic.
- A $50 jar of premium air helps provide wrap-around support from a CFNZ Social Worker, for a family with a newly diagnosed baby.
- A $100 jar, sourced from some of Aotearoa’s most remote locations, assists with the cost of travel and accommodation, ensuring a person living with CF can have a family member or support person with them while being assessed for, or recovering from a life-changing transplant.
Each jar is symbolic, but the support is very real. The funds raised go directly to support services that help people living with CF, and their whānau, navigate the intense emotional, physical, and financial challenges of this lifelong condition.
Want to breathe before you buy? Check out CFNZ’s Air for All pop-up store to browse the jars of air from all around Aotearoa, meet with the CFNZ team and support its CF community. With limited jars of air available, don’t miss your chance to be part of something special.
