We're spoilt for choice when it comes to outdoor activities in our city centre. From thrilling, stomach turning, adrenaline pumping activities, to water based, scenic and relaxing things to do in the fresh air - we know there's something for everyone to get involved in.

Thrills

If jumping from great heights, being flung into the air, or speeding across the ocean sounds like your idea of fun, then the city centre is your playground.

SkyWalk

SkyWalk

Head to New Zealand's tallest tower, the Sky Tower, to jump from 192 metres and soar back down to the city below with the SkyJump. Or, if you don't feel like jumping, opt for the SkyWalk where you'll walk around the top of the tower (with no handrails!), and be treated to 360° views of the central city and beyond.

Bridge-Bungy-Offer

For incredible harbour views, experience the Auckland Bridge Climb. This climb is a fully guided tour right to the very top of the Harbour Bridge! From here, take in our stunning city and watch as the cars zoom right beneath your feet. You can also bungy from the bridge if you're feeling extra brave. Get harnessed up and jump from under the bridge for this 40 metre bungy where you can even dip your head in the ocean below before bouncing right back up!

Auckland-Adventure-Jet.jpg

If you love the feeling of wind in your hair, try out the Auckland Adventure Jet. Race, spin & trick across the water at exceptional speeds in one of the turbocharged and supercharged twin V8 500hp engine jet boats. As well as being the ultimate adrenaline pumping activity, you'll also hear about Auckland City and its surroundings by your knowledgeable guide.

sky screamer.jpg

Take a seat in the Sky Screamer and prepare to be shot into the sky at 220kph in this reverse bungy! Rope in a couple of friends to go with you for one of the most frightening yet exciting experiences in the city centre.

Take in the scenery

For something a little less stomach sinking than jumping from great heights, enjoy scenic activities in the city centre.

Seaplane

Take to the skies for a scenic flight with Auckland Seaplanes. We suggest the Rangitoto and city scenic - this flight takes you on a journey above some of Auckland's surrounding islands before heading back for a trip over the city with picturesque views of the Auckland skyline and our magnificent Sky Tower.

Adventure-Capital-Auckland-bike-hire-in-the-city

Get moving with a bike ride along the waterfront. Take a ride along our stunning waterfront starting from Silo Park, crossing Te Wero bridge, looping through Princes Wharf and continuing along Quay Street. If you don't have your own bike, you can easily hire one from Adventure Capital, Next Bikes, or Big Street Bikers Rechargery. If you don't feel like riding a bike, check out the scooters for hire at E-Scooter Tours.

Jump on board with Auckland Whale & Dolphin Safari for a breath taking 4.5 hour cruise of the Hauraki Gulf while being treated to sightings of whales, dolphins, seals, rare seabirds and more. The cruise guarantees that you'll spot a range of marine life, but if not you'll get to cruise again for free! On your safari you'll cruise around the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park where 25 of the 88 species of whale and dolphin in the world frequently visit.
