In Between - It’s Still Me explores the space where energy and stillness converge. Bold, instinctive gestures in vibrant surfaces meet contemplative monochrome realms, revealing layers of connection beneath apparent contrast. The works invite immersion, guiding viewers from intensity into subtlety, and through this journey, a singular, persistent presence emerges: the artist’s energy, unbroken and unmistakably herself.
Roberta Queiroga is a contemporary artist based in Aotearoa New Zealand whose abstract practice sits at the intersection of gesture, energy, and spatial awareness. Trained as an architect, she brings a refined sensitivity to space, rhythm, and materiality, combining instinctive mark-making with structural clarity. Born in Brazil and shaped by life across four continents, her work draws on influences from Brazil, Portugal, Japan, and Aotearoa, forming an intuitive visual language rooted in movement and balance.
Her practice has been recognised locally and internationally, including exhibitions at Auckland Museum, selection as a Parkin Prize finalist, representation of New Zealand in a global women artists exhibition in Dubai, and an artist residency in Japan. At its core, her work explores the expressive potential of gesture and the emotional resonance of a single mark.
