Most Kiwis are familiar with the iconic fish poster that famously adorns the walls of takeaway shops up and down the country, but there will be some double takes with Sustainable Coastlines’ new tongue and cheek version.
Designed alongside NZ creative agency Augusto, and renowned New Zealand wildlife artist, Erin Forsyth, the trashy twist on this Kiwi poster classic pays homage to the most popular litter creatures lurking in our oceans, backed by Little Intelligence Data.
The result is 21 delicately illustrated new species of litter sea life in water colour, with fish like The Quarter Flounder and Pauaraid (among others), pride of place on the exhibit's walls.
The Auckland exhibition and nationwide campaign aims to draw the connection between items many of us use on a daily basis and the beaches and wildlife we hope to protect.
The message? It's pretty simple: catch your trash before it fills our oceans!
The exhibition will be on public display at Sustainable Coastline's Flagship in Wynyard Quarter from October 7th - 24th between 10am - 4pm Monday to Friday.
Public prints will also be available to purchase on Sustainable Coastlines website, with all proceeds supporting their efforts to protect our moana.
