There's plenty to enjoy at this fun and open community space right in the heart of the city.
The Griffiths Gardens is the inviting inner-city backyard for CBD residents, workers and visitors. As well as offering, seating, picnic tables and playground equipment, including two seesaws, there is also a gardening shed containing tools, several community garden flowerbeds and bike repair equipment.
Individuals and community groups are able to schedule small-scale activities in the garden through the Auckland Council's events system.
The Griffith's Garden also features a community fridge, that is sponsored by Love Food Hate Waste project, and allows donors to leave unwanted food items in it for others to make use of.
In addition to the community fridge, The Griffith's Garden is also the central teaching hub for the city bee collaboration project and serves as the home-base for the project providing ongoing activation and community presence on the site.
The Griffiths Garden is a great summer hangout spot for heart of the city dwellers so make sure you check it out.
