This thrilling orchestral event features a rich and emotionally charged programme, showcasing the next generation of New Zealand’s musical talent alongside internationally acclaimed artists.
The NZSO National Youth Orchestra presents NYO Adventure: Rachmaninov & Strauss, conducted by acclaimed Canadian maestro Adam Johnson in his New Zealand debut. Rising soprano Madison Horman, a 2024 Lexus Song Quest semi-finalist, will perform Richard Strauss’ 4 Lieder Op. 27. The programme also includes Strauss’ Don Juan, the world premiere of glacier by 2025 Composer-in-Residence Luka Venter, and Rachmaninov’s Symphony No. 2, promising an evening of powerful and emotive orchestral music.
