Whetu Marama is a multi-dimentional light and art projection of the past, present and future dedicated to the memory and legacy of Peter and Josephine Gossage marking the beginning of Matariki with its launch on 10 June at the Auckland Town Hall.
This exciting artwork will include moving image and a specially composed waiata, and will be projected onto the side of the Town Hall facing Aotea Square.
The projection show features artwork from Ngāti Manuhiri artists Star, Aroha and Ra Gossage along with illustrations from their late storyteller father, Peter Gossage.
Peter was the author and illustrator of over 20 best-selling picture books including Pania of the Reef, The Fish of Maui and How Maui Slowed the Sun. His powerful retellings of Māori myths and legends have introduced generations of children to the stories of Aotearoa.
