This event has been postponed until further notice.
The Big Screen Symposium brings the filmmakers of Aotearoa together for debate, discussion and inspiration. The event is for all those who bring our stories to the screen: from directors, writers and producers to actors, editors and other technicians; to business people, distributors and film students. It presents a big picture of the world of film and television, a great networking opportunity, and a wealth of insights and information on the pertinent issues facing filmmakers today.
Delegates are immersed in two intensive days of conversations, masterclasses, workshops, panel discussions and case studies with a stellar line-up of local and international filmmaker speakers. The Big Screen Symposium 2020 takes place over two days on April 3 & 4 at the ASB Waterfront Theatre, Auckland.
Leading the line-up of 2020 speakers is Academy Award winning Chilean director Sebastián Lelio whose feature films have all received critical acclaim, with A Fantastic Woman winning the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2017. He's joined by the LA-based filmmaker behind Netflix smash hit Cheer, Arielle Kilker and Aotearoa’s own Ant Timpson whose directorial debut Come To Daddy opened in NZ cinemas 20 Feb.
