The Haier Big Hoot Auckland 2018

The Haier Big Hoot is a free public art trail featuring 47 giant Owl sculptures (1.65m tall).

Each Owl has been turned into a bespoke piece of art by a Kiwi or International artist, with works by Dick Frizzell, Jeff Thomson, Flox, Weilun Ha, Peata Larkin, Grace Wright, Jessica Pearless, and more.

From Saturday 3 March, 2018, the Owls will be displayed for nine weeks in public spaces, parks, malls and libraries across Auckland.

Keep an eye out for 60 smaller Owlets on the trail (90cm tall) – many decorated by students from Auckland schools.

Find them all using the trail map within the Big Hoot 2018 app – available to download from the i-Phone or Android app store from 1 March. Hard copy trail maps will also be available from select locations – visit www.thebighoot.co.nz for more information.

The Haier Big Hoot is presented by Child Cancer Foundation. On Tuesday 29 May, once the trail has ended, the Owls will be auctioned to fundraise for Child Cancer Foundation.
