Winter is about to get a whole lot tastier with the launch of the eighth annual Great NZ Toastie Takeover!
This year, four city centre eateries are serving up their own irresistible takes on the iconic Kiwi toasted sandwich. From bold flavours to creative twists, each toastie is a tribute to the humble yet mighty sandwich we all know and love.
The rules remain true to tradition: every entry must be made with two slices of bread, be hand-held friendly, and include cheese (or a vegan alternative) along with pickles from the McClure’s Pickles range. Everything else is up to the toastie maker’s imagination – and those imaginations have certainly been in overdrive this year.
