Through three years of development, Te Tīmatanga has evolved into the opening event of Auckland Pride Festival!
Join The Civic's Wintergarden on Thursday 1 Feb 2024, to acti.vā.te our festival together through performing art, dance, ceremony and ritual as they embody Ki Tua.
There, last years Senior Artist, Te Kahureremoa Taumata (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāti Tuwharetoa) and 2023 Resident, Kiriana Sheree (Ngai Tūhoe, Ngāti Porou, Ngāpuhi) hand over the mauri of Te Tīmatanga to this year's Senior Artists; The Pacific Sisters, and our 2024 Resident - Pounamu Rurawhe (Te Rarawa, Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Tukorehe, Ngāti Raukawa). Supported by Valkyrie, the evening will drift into the night through music and dance.
