One of the city centre's most historic venues

The venue for numerous occasions, Auckland Town Hall is an environment suited to the most auspicious occasions and also has the iconic clocktower within the five storey building.

Great Hall 
This hall is used for performances by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Auckland Choral has performed Handel's Messiah there year after year since the building's opening in 1911.

The Great Hall can seat up to 1529 people on three levels and is also a popular venue for rock concerts and the like with musicians like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Elton John amongst those who have played there.

It is also host to the organ, New Zealand's largest instrument. 

The Concert Chamber is adjacent to the Great Hall and seats 431 people. Used for children's theatre, small chamber music shows, cabaret and more. This intimate venue is a real treat, so don't miss the opportunity to attend a performance here.

$2 per hour to a max of $12 on weekends and a $12 flat rate for weekday evenings at The Civic car park. Find out more
